Have you noticed that there is now an app for your phone for everything? I often complain about how reliant we are on our phones now so I am probably not the best person to comment on the value of all of these apps.
In fact, just last week, I could not stop grumbling about having to download an app on my smart phone just to set up a new “Smart TV” I bought. I could not set it up without it and it took 30 minutes to go through all the steps. It did not feel like a very smart TV. Whatever happened to just plugging it in and watching?
There was even more grumbling because I really did not want to buy this new TV but alas, my seven year old TV started turning dark around the edges and as I found through researching it, it is more expensive to repair the TV than it is to chuck it in a landfill and buy a new one these days. Try as I could to keep using my old TV for about 4 months, I eventually succumbed to the moans and groans from my children and they got me to, reluctantly, buy a new one.
Well, it turns out one woman in the UK is thankful for an obscure phone app she never thought would lead to catching her husband cheating. Have you ever bought an electric toothbrush and used the app (yes, even toothbrushes have apps now!) to track your brushing? I never have to try to be honest, but one wife in the UK did, and set it up for her whole family so she could track her kid’s brushing habits. When she looked at the tracking activity she discovered that her husband was brushing his teeth at home during late mornings on Fridays, when he was supposed to be at work.
She immediately became suspicious and found out that her husband had Fridays off for months and she did not know about it. She then found out that he was bringing his lover home to their house on Fridays and the toothbrush was recording every time this happened!
When confronted by the wife, the husband had to admit to it, as she had a time stamp for every time he brushed his teeth when he was supposed to be at work on Fridays. Talk about an unusual outcome from monitoring your kids’ brushing habits!
