Clackamas County has a children’s Wish List to help give holiday gifts to the young members of families that recently experienced homelessness. Gifts are especially needed for families with children in middle school and high school. Please go to the list by Dec. 9 to help make a child’s wish come true.

Social Services Housing Pod offers programs to support families with housing instability. The children served by each program benefit from the generous donations made through the Wish List.

“We serve families with children of varying ages and want to make sure we include the pre-teen and teenage kiddos who are typically left out of holiday toy drives,” said Social Services Case Manager Cindy Garcia.

Wish List gift prices range from $25 to $60. With the donations, parents can give a specially chosen gift to each of their children knowing that their basic needs budget will not be affected.

Donated gift items from the Wish List arrive at the Housing Pod office and are then sorted and delivered to each family by Dec. 19, so parents can present the gifts to their children.

“While we may not be at the North Pole, we feel like Santa’s helpers getting presents ready for families in anticipation of how much the donated gifts will bring joy to them all this time of year,” said Garcia.
